books on the transit
Once upon a time, two Torontonians wanted to bring an international book sharing program to Toronto for all to enjoy. Their hope is to promote reading and random acts of kindness. How does this book share program work, you ask? It’s simple – Ride, Read, Return.
- While riding Go Transit & TTC, keep your eyes peeled for dropped books, both old and new, of all genres for all ages.
- If you’ve found a book, take it home with you and enjoy! Let us know if you’ve found a book by tagging us on social media, or including our hashtag, #booksonthetransit.
- Once you’re done reading the book, please return it by dropping it back on Go Transit platforms, trains or buses for the next Torontonian to read.
meet our team
We’re Danielle & Kristyn. We officially launched Books on the Transit in March 2017. We started our branch because we knew that our fellow Toronotonians would love this book share initiative and we weren’t wrong! One of our hopes is to foster a love for reading and continue random acts of kindness!
We’re thrilled to be dropping books for all the people of Canada’s largest city to enjoy. Happy reading!
